Weekends and holidays are usually reserved for lots of playing and crafts around here. And this weekend was no different! I recently bought a box of Borax so we went to work on some fun crafts. Our absolute favorite craft that we made with Borax was DIY slime.
My task of finding crafts for the girls is a little difficult because they are 5 years apart so I have to find something that engages them both! This craft sure fit the bill! My oldest had a blast measuring and mixing all the ingredients. While my youngest simply enjoyed playing with it and trying to figure out what it was. Both girls were pretty awed at how fast it went from water to slime!!
This is one of the easiest and cheapest crafts we have made in awhile. It took no more than 10 minutes and we had everything already in the house, so it cost us nothing! Win, win!!!
3/4 Cup Cold Water
1 Cup Elmer’s Glue
5 Drops of Food Coloring
1 tsp Borax
1/2 Cup Hot Water
Mix together cold water, Elmer’s Glue and food coloring.
In a separate larger bowl mix together Borax and hot water until Borax is dissolved.
Slowly mix in the hot water mixture to the cold water mixture.
Slime will begin to form and get hard fairly quickly
Any color food coloring will do as well as any amount. The more you put in the brighter the slime
The slime will dry out so put into a plastic bag once finished enjoying it.
Borax can be found in the laundry isle. (I had a hard time finding, theres no need for you to have the same struggle, haha).
I hope you and your kids enjoy this as much as my girls did!
Thanks so much to BreAnna at mombeyondmom.com for this DIY piece!
